Woman kills husband with the help of lover; later dumps lover and gets him murdered

The accused, Shobha, married Gopal in 2005, after a long courtship. The couple was happy for a few months, but then Shobha met Samuel, and they started having an affair.

This resulted in more fights, and both Shobha and Samuel decided to kill Gopal. On November 4, 2007, they murdered Gopal, and cremated his body in Malavalli taluk, Mandya district.
No evidence
Because there was no body, the Mandya police was clueless about the victim or the culprits for almost three years.
But a missing persons complaint registered at Baiyappanahalli finally led the police to Shobha and Samuel in January this year, the duo was sent to jail. The couple was granted bail after four months, in April.
During her jail stay, Shobha had lost interest in Samuel, so she started neglecting him.
Samuel begged her to stay with him, and also pestered her for money, but she refused, and started a new affair with one Ashok Kumar from Kolar.
Later, Samuel started to make threatening calls to Shobha, which infuriated her, and she decided to kill him as well.

She told Ashok her plan, and gave Rs 5 lakh as supari to local goons to kill Samuel. Samuel was murdered in his house on September 12, at Indira Nagar.
A case was registered, but the killers hadn't left any clues. The police questioned Shobha, but she mislead by saying he was killed by his enemies, and gave them names.
But police tracked down phone calls between Shobha and Ashok. Following the clues, the police arrested the supari killers on Monday.
In her interrogation, Shobha said, "I had murdered both Gopal and Samuel to continue my relationship with Ashok." She also agreed that she had hired goons to kill Samuel.
Inspector Kishor Bharani from Indiara Nagar police station said, "We have sent a message to all the police stations to find details of her other crimes.

From the preliminary investigation, we are assuming that she has more crimes registered against her. We are still investigating."
