Middle-aged woman claims two men looking for her absconding son thrashed her at her home because they thought she was hiding him
Au00a0middle-aged woman was allegedly dragged out of her home and beaten by two men who had come looking for her absconding son.
In her complaint, Nagaratnamma (42), a resident of Shampura, said one of the two men was the former business partner of her son Rajesh.
She said her son had been absconding since his partner Vivek had filed a cheating case against him.
Nagaratnamma's son had started a BPO with Vivek a few months ago, but the company shut shop after suffering heavy losses in the recent economic slowdown.
Her son's partner alleged that Rajesh had pocketed Rs 16 lakh belonging to the company, and for that he filed a cheating case with the RT Nagar police station.
Fair means and foul
On Sunday, Vivek came with the RT Nagar police in search of Rajesh, but Nagaratnamma told them her son had not been home for days.
Nagaratnamma's complaint said the next day Vivek came with a friend, a man who ran a wine shop, and accused her of shielding her son.
Hit till she bled
She alleged that when she objected to the accusation, Vivek dragged her out and rained blows on her.
"Vivek kicked me and slapped my face repeatedly till I started bleeding," Nagaratnamma told the police. "They later barged in and ransacked my home saying Rajesh might be hiding inside somewhere."
She said they left in a car after warning her that they would be back.
Nagaratnamma told the police that she did not know whether her son was guilty or not and that it was up to the police to investigate and the courts to punish the guilty.
"But beating a woman in public and humiliating her is not legal and the law should take action against Vivek and his friend," she said in her complaint.
