Though Ishtkam Pandey, winner of this week's Rate The Story And Win a Meal contest, had contemplated a solo complimentary meal at Cafu00c3u00a9 23, his college buddy Arun Pathak couldn't resist the offer. Here's an account of the grand gastronomic rendezvous.
With the mercury dipping low, nothing could have tasted better than a bowl of piping hot tomato soup to begin with. With hunger pangs rising, it was time to order starters, which included Phaldari Seekh along with Pasta in Tomato Basil Sauce. The fulfilling spread was followed by a lighter main course that consisted of Vegetable Biryani with Pineapple Raita. The in-between times were busy with nostalgic chit-chat. "Ishtkam and I rarely meet, because our professional lives keep us caught up all the time. So, this evening is special. The great food only makes the experience better," smiled our guest's friend.
Power punch
The communications pro admitted he's a recent MiD DAY addict and wasn't a voracious reader of the afternooner prior to that. "I like the way you guys combine everything into one cool capsule. There is politics, entertainment, literature, so much!" Thanks for the flattery, it always felt good!
