A jeweller was duped by two conmen who approached him as customers and fled away with his jewellery without paying for the goods.

A complaint was lodged with Sanghavi police station by Hanumant Bhagwan More (40), who owns Sighri Sidhnath Jewellers at New Sanghvi's Famous Chowk.Two men walked into his shop around 2.00 pm on Monday.

The men bought a chain, gold coins and a bracelet all worth Rs 66,000. The duo then said that they didn't have the cash and asked the jeweller to accompany them home for the money. More and two of his friends went along with the men.

According to More, one of the men got off stating that he was going to withdraw money.The other parked the car at Infosys Chowk and disappeared on pretext of getting some documents.

The jeweller and his friends were abandoned along with the car and they later informed the police.
