Delhi boy selected for the prestigious ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai
It took him long to realise his dream. But as they say, it's never too late.

Twenty-year-old Raman Chahar left cricket when the pressure to graduate became too hard to handle. But he couldn't hang his boots for long and came back with a bang.
"It's like a dream come true. This is a perfect platform to showcase my talent and I'll make the most of it. It feels great to get selected after beating 5,200 aspirants across the country,'' said an excited Chahar, who is now pursuing law from Delhi University.
Son of an IPS officer, Chahar practices at Lal Bahadur Shastri Club and has been playing cricket since 2002.u00a0 His talent in cricket helped him in getting admission in Hindu College through sports quota.
"I almost stopped playing cricket for three years while pursuing economics during my graduation. But somewhere down the line I knew that cricket is my true calling. So I gave a shot for the Gatorade Pacers and succeeded. But there's still a long way to go," said Chahar, who wants to be the Indian version of the Rawalpindi Express.
Four aspiring pacers were chosen after an intense nation-wide one-month long talent search by Gatorade Pacers 2010, spearheaded by former India cricketer Manoj Prabhakar.
The selection process involved measuring bowling speed with a speed gun coupled with experts' assessment of action, fitness, accuracy and potential of the bowler.
Gatorade Pacers' 2010 edition saw over 5,200 aspirants from over 2500 schools, colleges, sports clubs as well as State Cricket Associations across India in the regional rounds. These rounds were held for U-15, U-19 and U-22 talent across the seven cities of New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
