Saving Earth from asteroids
British space scientists have designed a spacecraft capable of saving the world from a catastrophic asteroid collision.
In fact, this idea has been suggested earlier.
If you think that the danger of asteroids is low, then you must read about the asteroid that in March 2009 passed just 66,000 kilometres above Earth.
In fact, the danger is so high that NASA is constantly tracking near-earth asteroids.
By the way, in 2003, it was said that an asteroid called 2003 QQ47 which has a mass of around 2.6 billion tonnes and is 1.2 kilometres wide, may hit Earth on March 21 2014, unleashing a force that is eight million times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped over Hiroshima in 1945.
