A cat from Luton has been dubbed 'Denis the Menace' after he was caught stealing things from neighbours' houses
Owner Lesley Newman caught him sneaking back in through the cat flap carrying an amazing array of loot nicked from her neighbours’ homes and gardens.

Lesley, 48, reckons two-year-old Denis went off the rails as a kitten when he snatched a discarded sock on his first trip out after she brought him home from a rescue centre.
Since then he has escalated to a bath towel, football, Barbie doll, cuddly toy, cardigan, paintbrushes, shoes, sandals and slippers, the Mirror reported.
Even after being “busted” by CCTV footage, he just can’t seem to go straight – proudly presenting a daily array of stolen items, including boxer shorts and even a thong to embarrassed Lesley, the report said.
Accounts assistant Lesley tries to reunite the swag with owners – storing the “hot” goods in cardboard boxes so they can be easily retrieved.
“He must have nicked more than 100 things by now. Sometimes he leaves them by my bed while I’m asleep,” she said.
“I tracked down one lady who lost her sandals – and found Denis would have had to scale half a dozen 6ft fences to get there and back,” she said.
