The US Secret Service investigated the Alabama teacher after he used the assassination model in a class about parallel lines.

"He was talking about angles and said, 'If you're in this building, you would need to take this angle to shoot the president'," said Joseph Brown, a student, who attended the class.
No threat
The US Secret Service interviewed the teacher before concluding he was no threat to Obama.
Local Secret Service agent in charge Roy Sexton announced no charges would be filed. "We did not find a credible threat," Sexton said.
School furious
School superintendent Phil Hammonds intended to take no action against the teacher until a massive public outcry yesterday.
After first insisting there were no plans to fire the man,u00a0 Hammonds decided he should be disciplined for his "lack of judgment".
"As a district, we are embarrassed by his actions and what he said,"u00a0 Hammonds said.
"There is nothing that can be said to rationalise what was said. We take this very seriously. There is no place in our society for a person to make these comments," added the schoolu00a0 superintendent.
Hammonds vowed to investigate further, and said he would take advice from students and teachers about whether to recommend further action.
