The schoolgirl shot in the head by the Taliban in Pakistan has been released from a British hospital after life-saving treatment yesterday.

Malala was flown to the UK for surgery in October and went under the knife at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
But doctors said she was now fit enough to return to her family.
She will undergo further reconstructive treatment on her injured skull in the coming weeks.
Experts are optimistic Malala has a good chance of recovery because the brains of teenagers are still growing and can better adapt to trauma.

Medical director Dr Dave Rosser says doctors decided she’d benefit from being at home with her family.
He said, “Malala is a strong young woman and has worked hard with the people caring for her to make excellent progress in her recovery. Following discussions with Malala and her medical team, we decided that she would benefit from being at home.”
She will visit the hospital every week to attend out-patient clinical appointments where doctors will assess her progress.
Meanwhile, Malala is now likely to secure permanent residence in the UK after her father was granted a job with the Pakistani consulate in Birmingham.
There were calls for her to be awarded the Nobel peace prize. The British Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said on Malala’s arrival that her bravery was ‘an example to us all’.
