The Duchess of Cambridge was embroiled in fresh controversy yesterday after an Italian magazine published a photograph of her in a skimpy bikini and showing off her baby bump.

Beside a headline saying: “Kate and William babymoon,” it shows William in blue shorts and Kate, in a blue bikini. The 31-year-old Duchess, who is four months pregnant, is clearly showing her baby bump for the first time.
St James’s Palace condemned the publication of the photograph, which has been touted around the world’s media in the past few days. A spokesman said, “We are disappointed that photographs of the Duke and Duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas. This is a clear breach of the couple’s right to privacy.”
Australian mag also to publish pics
Australian magazine Woman's Day will run the controversial shots in Monday’s edition. Editor Fiona Connolly said she had no qualms about running the photographs, claiming they were taken by a fellow holiday maker on the Caribbean island of Mustique rather than a paparazzo. “It wasn’t a hard decision to run these photos," she said. “She is on a public beach and she was mingling with holidaymakers. There are other holidaymakers in the photos. It’s a very different situation to the nude photos, there is no photographer hiding in the bushes and she is not inside a private villa.”u00a0
