Ambassadors from the 185 countries Britain has "normal diplomatic relations" with have been invited to the wedding. The ambassadors of revolt-torn Libya and Malawiu00a0-- which is engaged in a diplomatic feud with Englandu00a0-- were not invited. But the royal family has taken flak for inviting Zimbabwe's ambassador and other representatives of despots, while former Prime Ministers Gordon Brown and Tony Blair were left off the guest list.

"In retrospect I think the decision-makers probably would have made some different decisions," said former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw. Bahrain's Crown Princeu00a0 turned down an invite, saying he didn't want unrest in his country to taint the celebration. Protesters planned to demonstrate yesterday to condemn the invitation of a Saudi prince for his role in quashing dissent in Bahrain.

'Deeply moved'
Prince William and Kate Middleton broke with tradition yesterday to thank the public for their support ahead of their big day. Their gushing messageu00a0-- in the Royal Wedding Official Programmeu00a0-- read, "We are both so delighted that you are able to join us in celebrating what we hope will be one of the happiest days of our lives. The affection shown to us by so many people during our engagement has been incredibly moving, and has touched us both deeply."

Dates
Chelsy Davy, who is Prince Harry's on-again-off-again girlfriend has reportedly been invited to the royal wedding. And those wondering who Kate's sister Pippa Middleton will bring for the wedding, it is rumoured that 30-year-old former cricketer Alex Loudon is expected to escort the maid of honour to the wedding of the millennium.

Kate Middleton will sport a spray-on tan today but Prince William turned down the offer saying he was no David Beckham and settled for a manicure and haircut.
