Cyclone Fengal is currently impacting parts of southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu, and nearby regions. Rough seas and gusty wind were witnessed in Mahabalipuram. The Cyclone is moving toward the Tamil Nadu coast, expected to make landfall near Puducherry between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram. As per IMD, #CycloneFengal to cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram close to Puducherry as a cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph during the evening of 30th November.

24 November,2024 01:05 PM ISTIn a major tragedy, the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express train collided with a goods train near Tamil Nadu’s Chennai on October 11. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Chennai-Gudur section between Ponneri and Kavaraippettai railway stations. The incident led to the derailment of at least 12 coaches of train in which as many as 19 passengers sustained injuries. Soon after the mishap, the relief and rescue efforts were underway, and all passengers have been evacuated.
