Chelsea's Sturridge set for recovery

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge who fell ill over the weekend with viral meningitis said he hoped to recover soon and was keen on playing for Team GB at the Games.

The 22-year-old said: “The Chelsea medical team, the doctors and nurses at St Mary’s Hospital have been outstanding.

I am starting to feel a lot better and I am optimistic about being able to make the Olympics.”
