The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will turn down a request from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host the second Test between India and New Zealand in November.
It is learnt that the BCCI asked the CAB to conduct the Test since the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association have expressed their inability to play host at Kanpur.
"We won't be able to host the Test at the Eden Gardens since the ground has to be completely ready by December 31 as per ICC rules for the World Cup," said CAB secretary Bishwarup Dey.
