Souravu00a0Ghosal played his first game in Mumbai after three years. He landed in the city at 2.30 pm and had little time to prepare for his 4.50 pm Maharashtra State Squash Championships game at the Bombay Gymkhana.
He didn't fail to display his fine skills when he stepped on the court as Mahesh Mangaokar was beaten 11-7, 13-11, 11-4.

"It was a very hectic schedule. I'm glad I got through my game against Mahesh. It's always nice to play in front of a Mumbai crowd as they appreciate squash," he said.

Sourav is currently training in England under Malcolm Willstrop in Pontefront. The World No 34 is aiming for a spot in the top 20. He rued the lack of competition on India's squash circuit. "I have been seeing the same faces ever since I played at the junior level.

We need more players bursting in for the sport to improve," he said. However, organisers lament the lack of big names in tournaments.u00a0

"It's not that we don't want to come for all tournaments.u00a0 For me, the competition here isn't good enough. In order to compete at the Professional Squash Association level, we have to train abroad," remarked Sourav
