International Cricket Council chief executive Haroon Lorgat indicated that he was happy with the decision to award the 2006 England vs Pakistan Oval Test to the hosts.

"I'm gratified the board reached the conclusion it did as this ensures the integrity of the game and the Laws of Cricket have been upheld. I am especially grateful to the PCB for its understanding in this matter.
"In a simple answer (we are) doing the right thing.
"I think there is no question about upholding the integrity of the game and ensuring that we always do the right thing.
"So that's always the intention and I hope that the result that we come out of it with after some robust debate is exactly that."
The call to record the result as an abandonment, made after lobbying from the PCB, drew fire from several quarters with MCC chairman Tony Lewis and West Indies great Michael Holding among the most vocal critics.
'No business'
Lewis stated that the ICC had "no power" to alter results retrospectively and urged a rethink, while Holding resigned his position on the ICC in opposition.
Umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove's decision to end the match as a forfeit on the fourth day despite a belated offer to return to the field from Inzamam's team - was a first in the history of Test cricket.
The news will come as a boost to former skipper Michael Vaughan whose national record for wins as captain once again stands at 27.
