The disappointment over the spot fixing saga was quite evident on former India World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev's face.

"It has brought shame to the gentlemen's game. I am a very patriotic person and I felt really bad when I heard three Pakistani cricketers (Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif) involved in spot fixing.

I can't believe how these three cricketers can sell themselves and their country for money," Kapil said during the announcement of his association with Doehle Danautic Logistics & Trading company yesterday.

He reacted strongly to media reports in Australia about an IPL batsman deliberately playing slowly.

"I have no doubt that the IPL is clean. Instead of seeing the negative side, we should not ignore the positives of the IPL. I think IPL is a great platform for youngsters to prove themselves," he said.
