VVS Laxman was delighted to see a full house on the opening day of the Mumbai vs Haryana Ranji Trophy tie here yesterday.
“It is good to see cricket infrastructure in these parts where young cricketers will certainly emerge,” said Laxman, who was invited by Haryana Cricket Association chief Anirudh Choudhary.

The former India batsman, who retired in 2012, handed over mementoes to some members of the 1991 Ranji Trophy-winning team.
The first day of the match afforded him an opportunity to catch up with Sachin Tendulkar, who is playing his last first-class match.
“Only Sachin could come to a remote place like this to play. He’s mad about playing cricket. He didn’t think of the comfort aspect,” said Laxman.
