Mixed luck for Indians at French Open

It was more good news than bad for India at the French Open as Leander Paes sailed into pre-quarter-finals of the men's doubles but Sania Mirza crashed out of the women's doubles event.

However, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles began their campaign in fantastic fashion with a 6-3 6-2 win over Frenchmen Josselin Ouanna and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga yesterday.

The 14th seeded Sania and Chia-Jung Chuang were knocked out 6-4 6-7 (5) 3-6, while third seeds Paes and Lukas Dlouhy staged a comeback, defeating James Cerretani and Sergiy Stakhovsky 4-6 6-3 6-2.
