Sri Lanka took one step into the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 while England stayed in the hunt after both recorded comfortable wins in their Super Eights matches on Saturday

Sri Lanka must avoid defeat in their last match against England while the West Indies need to beat the Black Caps with a superior net run-rate — both matches here today — to reach the last four.
In case Sri Lanka lose to England and the West Indies beat New Zealand, it will come down to net run-rate to decide the semi-finalists, with three teams on four points. New Zealand’s slim chances of reaching the semi-final hinge on Sri Lanka winning their last match and their their margin of win against the West Indies. “Overall it’s a very good team effort. When they were going after our bowlers I just kept changing the bowlers and it worked,” said Jayawardene.
Wright smashed five sixes and as many boundaries off 43 balls and Eoin Morgan hit 30 as England won their first match of the Super Eights. “It’s nice to bounce back. Finn set the tone with the new ball. The wicket was a lot drier and it did turn a bit. We now have a huge game on Monday,” said captain Stuart Broad.
