London: If England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen spend £150,000 (approximately Rs 1.5 crore) only on their new kitchen, one would have expected the celebrated couple to make the most of their mind-boggling splurge.

Instead, the Rooneys admit they rarely use it, reported the Daily Mail website on Monday. While the Man United ace revealed having a liking for beans on toast, his wife Coleen was candid in admitting that she does not like to cook. "Either my mum (Colette McLoughlin) will do it or we go out. I don’t cook it," Coleen was quoted as saying in the report.
A report in The Sun gave a break-up of some of the top-end kitchen appliances the couple bought, which included a £20,000 (approximately R19 lakh) Wolf Duel fuel oven, a £200 (approximately Rs 20,000) Roberts radio, £13,650 (approximately Rs 19 lakh) sub-zero fridge, £11,250 (approximately Rs 11 lakh) sub-zero wine cabinet and £42 (approximately Rs 5000) Jo Malone candle.

According to the report, a BBC One documentary on Wayne and Coleen Rooney provided a rare glimpse into the home of the £60million footballer, showcasing his prized possessions, including a collection of guitars signed by his music idols and an extensive trophy room.
Rooney, a poet
The documentary, which was aired in England yesterday, also revealed that Rooney, a keen poet, used to pen verses for his wife. "I loved writing poems before I was with Coleen. So when I first got with Coleen, I used to write her a lot of poems, but that’s died down a little bit of late," said Rooney, who recently broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s 50-goal England record.
