Here comes Darinda: An Exclusive Interview with Darinda

Darinda

Darinda, the masked maestro who’s got the nation grooving, sat down with us (virtually, of course-he doesn’t take off that mask) to chat about his journey, his music, and what lies ahead. With hits like Kis Colour Ki Chaddi and Kela Le Lo, he’s already become a household name. But who is Darinda? Let’s dive in.

Q: Let’s start with the big one-why the mask? Is it just about staying anonymous, or does it mean something deeper?

Darinda:
“I’ve always believed that the song is king. It’s not about me; it’s about the music. As Lataji sang, ‘Naam gum jaayega, chehra yeh badal jaayega, meri awaaz aur gaane hi pehchaan hai.’ That’s what I want people to remember: my voice, my music-not my face. The mask lets me focus on what truly matters.

Q: Fans are dying to know-are you a solo artist or part of a bigger team? Any clues?

Darinda:
“Let’s just say I’m not alone. There are some amazing people from the industry who’ve got my back as moral support. They prefer to stay in the background, just like me, and I respect that.

Q: Your music spans genres like street, pop, EDM, and Bollywood. How do you decide the vibe of a track?

Darinda:
“It’s all about the subject of the song. The vibe kind of creates itself. I always start with the melody and lyrics; once those click, everything else just follows. It’s like the song chooses its own direction.

Q: Your tracks like Kis Colour Ki Chaddi and Kela Le Lo are super relatable. How do you come up with these themes?

Darinda:
“Honestly, they’re just the wackier side of me! I don’t shy away from making whatever comes to my mind. If it makes me happy during the process, I go for it. Whether the world loves it or not, that’s up to them-but I’m thrilled they’re vibing with it so far.

Q: You’ve said, “The only genre I follow is the one that puts a smile on people’s faces.” Where does this mindset come from?

Darinda:
“The world is so full of stress. If my music can put even a small smile on someone’s face, I’ve done my job. I want people to enjoy life, groove a little, and just feel good when they hear Darinda.

Q: Who are your biggest musical influences?

Darinda:
“Oh, I love rock music-huge fan. But the kind of music I make is street pop and a mix of everything else. It’s funny how different what I listen to is from what I create.

Q: Meme culture is huge now, and your songs have gone viral on Instagram. How much does that influence your music?

Darinda:
“Meme culture is wild, isn’t it? You can blow up with just a 15-second hook. People are restless-they want to consume content fast. It’s fun to see how that plays out, but at the end of the day, a good song is a good song, whether it’s 15 seconds or three minutes.

Q: Kis Colour Ki Chaddi has over 500 M views! Did you expect it to become such a massive hit?

Darinda:
“Not at all! Seeing people from all walks of life dancing to it-it’s surreal. The best part is when fans tag me in their reels. There’s this one where a grandma is grooving to it-made my day!

Q: You mentioned you’re not alone. Can you share anything about the industry names supporting you?

Darinda:
“All I can say is, I have some of the best people backing me as moral support. It gives me a lot of confidence. But they like to keep things low-key, just like me.

Q: Any exciting collaborations coming up?

Darinda:
“Oh, there’s a lot coming! So many collabs in the pipeline. But if I tell you now, it’ll kill the surprise, won’t it? Let’s just say Darinda has only just started.

Q: What’s one thing you want your fans to know about Darinda?

Darinda:
“That I’m just like them-a movie buff, a music lover, and someone who believes in enjoying life. Whenever you’re bored, stressed, or sad, remember: ‘Here comes Darinda.’ I’m here to lift your mood.

Q: Final question-will we ever get to see the face behind the mask? Or is it a mystery forever?

Darinda:
“I think the mask is staying. Like I said, it’s the song that matters, not the face. I’m just the medium-the chosen one, if you will-to bring some joy into your life through music.

Rapid-Fire Fun?

Q: If you weren’t a musician, what would you be?
“An astronaut. For real.

Q: What’s on your playlist right now?
“Anuv Jain’s Tum Mere Ho, Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Payal, and Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather.

Q: Which Bollywood star would you love to feature in a song?
“Shah Rukh Khan, hands down. He’s the vibe.

With that, Darinda signs off, leaving us with this: “Enjoy life. Groove to the music. And whenever you need a good song, just remember-here comes Darinda.

Mask on. Music up. Let’s vibe.
