Ashish Sahasrabuddhe, living in Sydney, Australia for over a decade now, produced the First Marathi  Film (1 hour 13 minutes ) titled “The Filmmaker” that was entirely made in Sydney,Australia with local talent including Indian, Chinese, and Australian actors.

Ashish brought this film to life without any commercial backing relying solely on his own savings.

’The Filmmaker’ won 3 awards  the Best Writer award at the Marathi International Film Festival in New Jersey, USA. “Best Writer” award in Global India International film festival in Pune and won Best Experimental Film at the Cafe Irani Chaii International Film Festival in Mumbai.

The storyline is deeply rooted in reality, portraying the challenges a common man faces when venturing into the film industry-how people mock you, deceive you, and how even friends might fail to help or pull you down.  He depicted some of the incidents in this film based on his own experiences when he wanted to make a film and also that he heard from many others.  These aspects resonate not just with filmmakers but with anyone endeavouring enough in starting their own business.

Ashish states, “When some of my contacts from media and other business world  watched the film, they thought it was their own story, With that kind of response, I felt like I was successful to capturing the spirit”

Why Marathi film? Ashish states “Although we have been living in Sydney and English has become our First language now, being Marathi, I always wanted to do a film project in Marathi whether the Marathi community in Australia watches the film or not”.

Filmmaking is not his business or a money making machine and that’s why he does not worry about any viewership, monetary benefit, popularity and/Or awards. He just wants to bring concepts based on life lessons to reality through the films.

Ashish Sahasrabuddhe, Creator of so many films and web series, Director of THINK GRAND FILMS and Marvel9 pvt ltd, notes on his journey “My willingness to try something new, keep challenging himself to do better, fight any obstacles, don’t give up and don’t rely on anyway kept building my confidence. I started feeling that I am in control of many things. Be slow, don’t compare with others, keep your head down and keep moving forward on the path. Every disappointment and failed attempt  in Life teaches extremely valuable lessons”

Recently he Directed a Hindi Film “SOCIALLY SUNA HAI” and released it in Cinema halls.  This film release has put him to the next level of appreciation in the public’s eye. The astounding response made first-time viewers re-watch the film and his shows are getting housefull.

Ashish plans to work on more film projects, including another Hindi film, for which he has already written the script, and plans to begin casting and filming soon for a 2025 release, all set to be made in Sydney, Australia.

Reflecting on his journey, Ashish is proud of what he has accomplished. Ashish Sahasrabuddhe’s story is a testament to perseverance and passion. Despite all his achievements, he still considers himself just a mundane person, continuing to pursue his dreams with the same determination that brought him to where he is today.
