Actor Vindu Dara Singh has featured in several films over the years. He has been an active part of the film industry and is known for his role of Hanuman in Jai Veer Hanuman. His father, the late Dara Singh was a renowned wrestler who has also acted in several films.

Today, on Vindu Dara Singh's birthday, we revisit the time he revealed the advice he got from his father on his interfaith marriage with Tabu's sister Farah Naaz. They got married in 1996 and divorced in 2002. They have a son together who was born in 1996.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vindu Dara Singh opened up about his marriage with Tabu's sister Farah Naaz and their eventual divorce. He had also spoken about his father's advice about his interfaith marriage. Before tying the knot, Vindu said that his father cautioned him against the possible complications of marrying someone from a different religious background.

The actor said, “Whatever he used to say was always right. I remember I was in love with Farah, and we were going to get married and Dad said, ‘Vindu think once because love is fine but when the marriage takes place between two religions, Hindu and Muslim, it gets a little hard.’ I said, No, dad nothing is hard because we were both in love and we didn’t care much about religion.”

However, Vindu said that his father was right in his case as his equation with his wife changed. “When religion comes into the picture things change, equations change," he remarked.

Vindu said that even after their divorce they continued to share a good friendship. They co-parent their son Fateh Randhawa whom they welcomed in 1996. After six years of their wedding, the duo decided to separate from each other in 2002.

Vindu also recalled an incident when his wife asked him to send her to Hajj following which she would quit smoking. The actor said that after she came back from Hajj was a completely different woman. "Everything about her was changed. That’s when I remembered whatever Dad said to me. From there, things started to go downhill. But it is ok.” In the end, he heaped praises on Farah and called her a wonderful mother.
