New Delhi: The team of the forthcoming film "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon", which was reportedly served a legal notice citing similarities to a Kannada film, has defended the comedy entertainer by saying that the script for their movie was registered in 2008 at the Film Writers Association.

"Whatever has happened (getting the legal notice), that keeps happening in our films. Some (people) keep doing this to take advantage...Our film got the copyright in the Film Writers Association in 2008 and these people (makers of Kannada film) have made their film in 2013," Mustan of the popular Abbas-Mustan director duo, told reporters here while promoting the film.

Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film in which he will be seen romancing four actresses, said that these kind of "allegations" come up during the release of any film.

"Even I have heard that news...however, I have not got the notice from anyone. But whenever there is a film, which is releasing, certain allegations sprout up... I do not know much about it," Kapil added.

When Abbas-Mustan were asked why did they wait till 2015 if the film's script was already registered in 2008, Mustan said: "In 2008, we had not even met the writer. In 2008, he had just registered the script, but after that when we met and heard the story, we finalised it. But when we selected the script, we wanted to have the right actors in it."

The "Baazigar" directors said that they were waiting for the "right actor, who could justify the script".

"After watching Kapil's show ('Comedy Nights With Kapil') and observing his sense of humour and timing, that is when we realised that casting him would be perfect," the duo added.

"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon", which also features Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi, Sai Lokurwords, Arbaaz Khan and Varun Sharma, will hit the screens on Friday.
