Critically-acclaimed actor Nirmal Pandey passed away today from a heart attack.

Critically-acclaimed actor Nirmal Pandey passed away today from a heart attack. He is best known for his performances in Bandit Queen, Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin and Godmother. Pandey was a graduate of the National School of Drama. He began his career as a theatre actor. He got his break in films with Shekhar Kapoor's Bandit Queen. He portrayed a transvestite in Daayraa (1996) for which he won a Best Actress Valenti award in France. He also conducted theatre workshops. The Telugu movie Kedi, which released last week, was his last film.
