Sallu swears never to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Here's whyu2026

Salman Khan is breathing fire at Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor is so angry with the Saawariya director that he has sworn never to work with him again.

It is learnt that the cause of his ire is Bhansali's volte-face. Salman had agreed to work in Sanjay's Saawariya, even though he didn't have much to do as the maverick director had promised a big project with him later.

Sallu and he had explored the possibility of remaking Hollywood flick, The Prestige, which took on the world of stage magicians. The actor had even presented him with a DVD of the film.

Woh mera idea tha!

Salman was under the impression that SLB was working on the project. After a few months, Salman bumped into Hrithik Roshan.

During their conversation, Hrithik told him that he was doing a film with Bhansali that was a remake of The Prestige.

This made Sallu see red as it was his idea to make the film and Bhansali went behind his back and was making it with another actor!

Says a source close to the Khan-daan, "Salman was shocked that Bhansali could treat him like this and not even inform him about the changed scenario. Ever since Salman has been openly abusing Bhansali in front of his friends."

Adds the source, "Sallu had agreed to be a part of Saawariya because of his old association (Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) with Bhansali.

Moreover, he had even taken time out to promote the film as the release date was clashing with Om Shanti Om that had Shah Rukh Khan.

Saawariya was a launchpad for Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, both newbies. Yet Sallu did whatever Bhansali told him for the promotion of the film."

It is learnt that Salman now feels cheated. As the source puts it, "He feels he did a huge favour to Bhansali during Saawariya and this was not at all expected from him."

About the Prestige

Christopher Nolan's The Prestige (2006) explores the world of stage magicians. It is an adaptation of Christopher Priest's award-winning novel of the same name.

The story follows rival stage magicians. Obsessed with creating the best stage illusion, they engage in competitive one-upmanship with tragic results.

The film features Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as the two rival magicians with David Bowie, Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson as the supporting cast.

Nolan's other known films include The Dark Knight, Batman Begins and Memento.
