Hansal Mehta and Kartik Aaryan

Talk in tinsel town is that Kartik Aaryan’s next, Captain India, with director Hansal Mehta has been put on the back-burner. This development is not linked to the plagiarism allegations that dogged the action drama last year. Reportedly, Operation Yemen producer Subhash Kale had accused Captain India’s makers of basing their film on the same subject, Operation Raahat, in which Indians were evacuated during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia. Apparently, both Kartik and Hansal are busy with commitments. The actor, who has Shehzada lined up for release in February, and is yet to wrap up Satyaprem Ki Katha, is slated to begin his film with Kabir Khan soon. Meanwhile, Hansal, who is readying his film with Kareena Kapoor Khan for release, also has Scam 2003, and other projects, in his kitty. Due to their busy date diaries, Captain India has been put on hold.

Titled Unseen, the horror series “has an eerie narrative full of jump-scary moments that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats”.

Mind it, Pathaan

In the wake of the controversy over the song, Besharam rang, from Pathaan, the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) has advised the film’s makers to implement changes in the song starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. While asserting that Pathaan “went through the due and thorough examination process as per the board’s guidelines,” CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi said in statement that “the CBFC is always committed to finding the right balance between creative expression and sensibility of the audience and believe that we can always find solution through meaningful dialogue between all stakeholders.” He added, “Whilst the process is getting duly followed and implemented, I must reiterate that our culture and faith is glorious, intricate and nuanced. And we have to be careful that it does not get defined by trivia which takes the focus away from the real and the true [depiction].”
