Have you heard? Revisiting the past

Jacqueline Fernandez and Vivek Oberoi

Now, this could be a big move for Vivek Anand Oberoi. The actor hasn’t exactly been able to recover the glory of his early days — one that he lost by courting a controversy. The Inside Edge actor is in talks for a key role in Pradeep Sarkar’s next, based on yesteryear actor Priya Rajvansh and filmmaker Chetan Anand. Jacqueline Fernandez has already been roped in to play Rajvansh. The Helicopter Eela director and his producers apparently felt that Vivek is perfect for the pivotal role and approached him. The actor has had a couple of meetings with them and things are likely to be finalised soon. Sarkar is slated to start shooting the yet-untitled movie later this year.

Tugging at the heart strings

Trust Akshay Kumar to take as good as he can give. The actor, who is known to prank unsuspecting colleagues, can also enjoy a good laugh at his own expense. The Bachchhan Paandey actor commented, “This is all heart” in response to Lilly Singh’s video of her and Drew Barrymore’s funny take on his song, Chura ke dil mera from Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994).

The Canadian comedian shared a video with the Charlie’s Angels actor, saying, “Finally met Drew Barrymore and she legit stole my heart. Also, didn’t she nail this?! Ugh. A queen.” Karan Johar also commented on her post, saying, “Love love love this.”

Uncle Robin confirms RK-Alia shaadi

Last week, Ranbir Kapoor’s chacha Randhir Kapoor denied news of his nephew’s wedding with Alia Bhatt. While almost everyone related to the couple refrains from commenting, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor’s uncle and veteran writer Robin Bhatt has reportedly confirmed the news.

He has said that only the families and close friends have been invited for the Punjabi shaadi that will take place on April 17 at RK House in Chembur. The various ceremonies will be spread over five days. Robin has said that the decision was taken around the beginning of this month. He also revealed that in early April, Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan invited him for the wedding.

Being unprofessional

Even Salman Khan doesn’t go back on his word once he makes a commitment. However, the rules seem different for Nora Fatehi, who has recently been roped in as a judge on a reality television show. She had committed to doing interviews at 12 pm, but began them only two hours later. But after doing only one interview, she walked out, citing that her pimple was hurting. #DivaMuch

A tailor-made role for Pooja

Last seen in Sadak 2 (2020), Pooja Bhatt has been signed on for a key role in Sudhanshu Saria’s next, Sanaa. The women-centric movie stars Radhika Madan, Sohum Shah and Shikha Talsania. The filmmaker said, “Pooja thoroughly fits the bill for this tailor-made role. I’m sure the legacy she carries as an actor and as the voice of women will add dimensions to her part.” The actor is “thrilled to be a part of this important movie because it examines the lives of women as we actually live it and not in a way the world thinks or wishes that we do.”

Calling out some rotten apples

While she has carved her niche today, there was a time when Yami Gautam would not be treated on par with her peers by those in the fashion industry. She recalled an incident when she was told that a particular lehenga was not for her. When she questioned the decision, she was told that it “just doesn’t work with the designer.” The Dasvi actor noted that some high-end designers tend to make actors feel bad. However, she also pointed out that it is not true of all designers. She added, “Some of them are really good with their work and their attitude, but there is always a rotten apple.”

A relatable powerful part

Pia Bajpai has bagged her next Bollywood biggie. She plays a small-town girl with big ambitions in a big city in director Aniruddha Roy Choudhary’s next, Lost. “I am sure many girls would be able to relate to my character. It struck a chord with me the moment I read it. She is powerful, ambitious, and vulnerable at the same time,” says the actor, grateful to Aniruddha for trusting her with this challenging part. She adds that working with him is like being in a film institute.

A new first for Divya

After acting and direction, Divya Khosla Kumar is gearing up for another debut in her career. She will perform on stage for the first time at the upcoming IIFA Awards in Dubai. The Satyameva Jayate 2 actor enthused, “I am excited as it will be my debut performance at an award show.” It seems prepping for her big act won’t be tough for Divya as she has a penchant for dancing and has even trained professionally. Moreover, dance is an important part of her fitness regimen.
