Lata Mangeshkar Birth Anniversary 2023: Bappi Lahiri and the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar shared a deep bond of love and mutual respect. Bappi Da once expressed that he owed his success in Bollywood to Mangeshkar. He recalled how the megastar used to visit their home when he was just a child, providing crucial support in the subsequent years.


Mangeshkar had been an unwavering pillar of support for Lahiri since his entry into the music industry. Their collaboration began with her singing his first composition in a Bengali film, 'Daadu.'


Bappi Da's first major Bollywood hit was in Tahir Hussain's 'Zakhmee,' featuring Aamir Khan's father, where Mangeshkar lent her voice to the chartbusters 'Abhi Abhi Thi Dushmani' and 'Aao Tujhe Chand pe Le Jaaon.'


The duo also teamed up for several hit songs, including 'Dil Tha Akela' from the 1979 movie 'Suraksha,' a memorable and soulful Hindi song renowned for its melodious composition and heartfelt lyrics.

Another beloved creation by this music maestro duo was 'Thoda Resham Lagta Hai' from the 1981 film 'Jyoti.' This song is cherished for its melodious tune and sweet lyrics, standing as a classic example of their fruitful collaboration in the Indian music industry.

The duo also worked on ‘Saiyaan Bina' from 1979 movie 'Aangan Ki Kali'. The beautiful song is sung by Bhupinder Singh, Lata Mangeshkar and composed by Bappi Lahiri. he song is known for its soulful rendition and is a memorable part of the film's soundtrack.

Lata Mangeshkar had also extended her heartfelt wishes to Lahiri on his 69th birthday, sharing two black and white pictures of herself with Bappi Lahiri on November 27. She wrote, “Happy Birthday Bappi. May God keep you healthy and happy always.” The first picture featured a young Bappi sitting in Mangeshkar's lap, while the second showcased a young Bappi posing with Lata Mangeshkar.

The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away last year on February 6th 2022. Mangeshkar won several awards and honours, including the Bharat Ratna (2001), India's highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan (1969), Padma Vibhushan (1999) and Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1989)
