The excitement around Lollapalooza festival is real. This music festival is all about bringing different genres under one roof – from rock to hip-hop to EDM. It's like a big melting pot of musical goodness that has turned into an annual pilgrimage for anyone who lives and breathes music.

Lollapalooza has made a name for itself by going beyond just the tunes. Interactive installations, food that's a feast for your taste buds, and an electric atmosphere – that's the essence of Lollapalooza. And each year, the lineup is the cherry on top, bringing together the biggest names in the industry to create an unforgettable experience.

Lollapalooza held its first 'Mumbai edition' in 2023 and will hold its second in 2024 - and let's just say the response has been mixed.

The focus of the festival has been shifted a bit. It's not just about the amazing artists that will grace the stage – it's also about the prices for the first round of tickets. This round of tickets is supposed to be exclusive, only for those who were part of the previous year's extravaganza. Sounds exciting, right? Well, there's a catch – the price. Brace yourself – it's a whopping Rs 8000, and that's not even counting the taxes. This is a huge hike from the pre-sale prices last year which were approximately priced around Rs 5000.

Now, before you imagine that Rs 8000 translates into front-row seats and backstage access, let's clarify – it doesn't. And this is where things get a bit tricky. The lineup, the heart and soul of any music festival, hasn't been announced yet. Yep, it's a leap of faith.

This twist hasn't gone down too well with fans. Social media platforms are buzzing with discontent, and fans are not holding back. They're not thrilled about the pricey tickets and the mystery lineup. Twitter and Instagram are bursting with fans venting their frustration. They're not just criticizing the ticket pricing, but also the lack of transparency around the lineup. The sentiment is clear – if you're asking people to invest, they want to know what they're investing in. The comments included:

"Y’all better not have a weak ass line up cause 8k is disrespectful expensive af" one fan wrote.

Another user commented, "Tickets are more expensive for folks who attended last years event, like what the actual??"

"Y’ALL BE SCAMMING WITH THE PRICES WHAT KIND OF PRESALE TICKETS ARE THESE??" read another comment.

"Prices increased by 2000 compared to last year. Only if we get good rock artists, the prices are justified." wrote another user.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Some are standing by Lollapalooza, reminding everyone of the festival's legacy and its history of delivering mind-blowing experiences. They're saying that the anticipation of the lineup is all part of the excitement, adding to the suspense and surprise.

Despite the hullabaloo, the exclusive phase 1 tickets have officially been sold out. As people await more updates, the buzz around Lollapalooza is sure to not die down anytime soon.
