Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui attended the press conference for his upcoming film 'Rautu Ki Beli' at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Saturday.

During the event, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, "I never kept myself in any pocket where I would only keep doing a certain type of characters. All thanks to my directors. They always kept in mind that they could make me do anything. I like this because if I keep doing the same kind go roles, I would be bored of myself.

"Sometimes something does not work when we experiment but it is a chance to learn. I do different roles to learn the lesson of living."

When asked about a character he hopes to play in the future, he said, "I would like to play the character of spiritual guru Osho if the opportunity comes."

Talking about the movie Nawazuddin said, "'Rautu ki Beli' is the name of a village where a mystery happens and then the story revolves around how a cop solves it."

"It is a murder mystery and has a very unique style. The method of investigation is so normal that you will feel that we are living the movie. I am playing a cop and it's the life of a small town, there is a police station in the same village, there is a cop, and there is his team which slowly and gradually investigates at its own pace."

Talking about IFFI he said, "It is a great festival. I came last year also. I hope the dignity and credibility that is there will remain intact in the future also."

Notably, 'Rautu ki Beli' is directed by Anand Surapur and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead role.

The film is set in 'Rautu ki Beli', a village in hilly north India, and follows Inspector Negi on an investigation after a school warden is found dead in the town.

Shariq Patel, CEO of Zed Studios and screenwriter of the film 'Rautu ki Beli' told that the film is a genre-breaker in terms of its portrayal of its characters and is a unique murder mystery. He also stated that the movie will be available on Zee 5 in early 2024.
