In an interview with an entertainment portal, she mentioned that this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened to her. She’s had other moments where she was excited about a project but didn’t get the role.

Talking about a project like this, she mentioned the time she auditioned for a role in 'The Night Manager'. She recalled, "I had auditioned for The Night Manager' but I didn’t get it. Aisa bahut baar huya hail (This has happened many times). And I loved the original show. And it had Aditya Roy Kapur! But it’s okay!" she said. She also revealed that she had auditioned for Sobhita Dhulipala’s role in the series.

Jennifer said that she doesn't dwell on rejections, "Of course, you feel upset and sad, but life goes on and something better comes along. I truly believe that every time something has not worked out for me, something even better has happened.'

Update about 'The Night Manager' series

Previously, Mid-day reported that creator Sandeep Modi had struck gold with The Night Manager. The first part of the Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala-starrer, which is based on the 2016 British original of the same name, is winning praise from critics and viewers. Even as fans wait for the subsequent chapter of the Disney+ Hotstar show, we hear the second season is underway.

A source revealed to Mid-day, “The team at Banijay Asia, the production house behind the Indian adaptation, is discussing concepts at this stage. Scripting will begin in June, after the second chapter of the show begins streaming. The makers are planning to take it on floors early next year.”

However, sources tell us that going forward, the Indian version won’t be an adaptation of its British counterpart. “This time around, the makers are working on some novel ideas that are related to neither John le Carre’s book that formed the foundation for both shows, nor the English series,” adds the source.
