Head to the Guild Art Gallery this week, where author and city researcher Kaiwan Mehta has set up his working studio for a span of nine days.

Titled The Street, and the Studio..., the event will see Mehta delving into the situations and displaying annotations that he collected during his journeys across cities and neighbourhoods and from various archives and libraries.

The studio will focus on collating texts and images for each of the selected chapters, detailing them with personal comments.

The exhibition will allow viewers to communicate with the researcher and vice-versa enabling Mehta to get feedback on his research.
As part of the exhibition, on January 7, there will be a screening of Dhobi Ghat and a discussion with director Kiran Rao (4.30 pm) and readings by cultural theorist Ranjit Hoskote, architect Mustansir Dalvi and Mehta (7.15 pm).

On January 11, there will be a conversation between artist Shilpa Gupta and critic Nancy Adajania on Routes and Footprints (5.30 pm).
