There is a trend of recreating songs in Bollywood. Many artists and musicians have taken the charge of giving new versions of songs to the audience. While nothing matches the original compilation of songs, this era of recreation of iconic music has a charm of its own. This change has become pretty evident in the music industry as many singers are giving newer versions by recreating the evergreen originals. Singer Manmeet Singh Gupta has recently come up with a recreated version of ‘Surili Akhiyon Wale’ from the film ‘Veer’ (2010). This new song is recreated by Harpreet Singh, an Indian Music Award winner whose composition skills are at par with excellence.

The song was released on the official YouTube channel of Eros Now Music. The original track from superstar Salman Khan’s film was sung by musical maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and the music was composed by Sajid Wajid. Manmeet has been a huge fan of Salman Khan since childhood. Speaking about recreating ‘Surili Akhiyon Wale’, the singer said, “I have grown up watching Salman sir’s films. Besides his larger than life persona on the big screen, the music of his films has been chartbusters. The best part about the song I feel is the lyrics and enchanting tunes.”

Interestingly, a majority of songs composed in the superstar’s films are by Sajid Wajid. Unfortunately, Wajid Khan passed away last year after suffering cardiac arrest. “It was sad to know about the death of Wajid sir. I believe the duo has contributed immensely in the music industry, and the legacy created by Wajid sir shall remain forever in the industry”, Manmeet revealed. Moreover, Gupta is the lead vocalist of the band Sanyaas that was established by him in 2015. Learning music from his guru, Shri Kuldip Singh, Manmeet’s career in the field of music began at an age of 9. The supremely talented singer has performed at more than 1000 shows across the country.

Earlier, Manmeet has performed and shared the stage with many well-known names from the tinsel town like Nakash Aziz, Abhijeet Sawant, Palash Sen and Ali Merchant. As far as his achievements are concerned, Manmeet Singh Gupta has holds the ‘Voice of Nation’ title for being a part of the Guinness World Record for 23 days of non-stop karaoke singing marathon by multiple participants. He was even bestowed with the Mystique Award for the Best Live Singer and Entertainer of The Year Award in 2016. When asked about his upcoming projects, the singer stated that he is working on new singles and is in talks with different record labels for the same.
