In its first list of candidates for the Assembly elections, BJP announced the names of 66 candidates of which 23 are sitting MLAs who have been given the tickets.u00a0
However, nine BJP sitting MLAs have been denied tickets.
Earlier in the day, the Shiv Sena and BJP announced that they had arrived at a seat-sharing agreement for the October 13 Maharashtra Assembly Elections.
BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde informed mediapersons in Bandra that as per the agreement, Shiv Sena would contest 169 and BJP 119 seats for the 288-member Assembly."
