Mahatma Gandhi's statue desecrated in Shimla

Mahatma Gandhi's statue at the historic Ridge was found desecrated early Tuesday on Gandhi Jayanti, the Mahatma's birth anniversary

Some miscreants placed a garland of glass bottles on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti in the hill town of Shimla.

A case has been registered, an inquiry ordered, said Superintendent of Police Chander Shekhar.

He said a case has been registered on the complaint of Deputy Commissioner Arun Sharma.
