Poll vault: Traffic rules, who cares?

Political leaders flouting traffic rules had become a common sight in the city for the last couple of weeks. The traffic police remained mute spectators as various candidates in the fray including former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, former union minister Ananth Kumar, and youth Congress leader Krishna Byre Gowda with their supporters took out road shows on motorbikes without wearing helmets, in open jeeps, and sometimes even jumping traffic signals!
It seems like the traffic policemen were busy ignoring the evidence before them as they had decided to focus on the vehicular movement and controlling the traffic.u00a0
