A thief stole a postman's bicycle and two satchels containing six passports and letters, on Friday.
One of the satchels was recovered but the one with the passports remains missing. Banaswadi police fear they will be used by racketeers.

On Friday, Gangaraju, working for St Thomas Town post office in Lingarajpuram, returned after delivering a letter to find his bicycle and two satchels missing.
Shopowners nearby said a man aged around 25 years had taken it away. A few minutes later, Muniraju,u00a0 the owner of Crystal Dry Cleaners, called up the post office to say he saw a man dumping a letter bag in a garbage bin.
"I chased the man but he got away," Muniraju told postal officials who rushed to recover the bag.
Thirty-eight of the missing 84 letters were recovered. The remaining 46 and six passports are still missing.
According to police, racketeers will pay up to Rs 15,000 for each passport. They replace the photos with those of criminals who want to leave the country. These passports are usually sent to Kerala or Mumbai where they are sold at exorbitant prices.
