Tourists flocked to Shimla’s scenic spots to witness the snowfall and enjoy the magical winter atmosphere. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the weather in Shimla and surrounding areas will remain dry for the next two days, with temperatures slightly rising.
A fresh spell of snowfall is expected in Shimla and other higher altitudes of Himachal Pradesh on December 27 and 28. Tourists shared their excitement about witnessing the snowfall, describing it as a dream come true.
Khyati, a tourist from Bengaluru, experienced her first snowfall in Shimla, describing the town as "incredibly beautiful." Palak, a tourist from Chandigarh, expressed delight at witnessing fresh snowfall after initially being disappointed about missing it.
Prachi, also from Chandigarh, described the snowfall in Shimla as a magical moment, making her trip feel complete. IMD senior scientist Shobhit Katiyar confirmed that light snowfall in Shimla on December 23 would continue for several hours.
The IMD has forecast moderate snowfall for the middle and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh on December 28, under the influence of a western disturbance. An orange alert has been issued for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur districts, advising both locals and tourists to take precautions during the ongoing cold wave.
