Eight arrests have been made in Olympic star Michael Phelps's pot smoking case. On February 2, a Britishu00a0paper published a picture of the 14-time Olympic gold medalist using a bong to smoke marijuana. The picture was taken at a party in Columbia back in November when Phelps was here for a visit.

After the Phelps pot smoking case case made headlines across the world, the Richland County Sheriff's Department started investigations into the incident and has made eight arrests: seven for drug possession and one for distribution since then.u00a0
The department has also located and confiscated the bong used by Phelps to smoke marijuana. Sources say the owner of the bong was trying to sell it on eBay for as much as $100,000. The owner, who wasn't at the party, is one of the eight now charged.
Phelps is not one of those charged at this point.
