Sayan was seriously injured in the eyes, head and teeth. The attack was then carried out after only identifying Hindus and Indians. Body of a minor girl allegedly raped in South 24 Parganas was found in canal on October 05. Her aunt said, “The body (of the girl) has several injuries on the body, limbs have been broken. She went missing while coming back from the tuition. Her father tried to find her everywhere but when he was not able to find her, he went to the Police station but the Police refused to listen to him and asked him to go to the Jaynagar Police station. Police neglected the matter.”

The junior doctors have asked for the meeting to be live-streamed. This request follows Mamata Banerjee’s visit to their protest site outside Swasthya Bhavan, where she promised to address their demands. On September 14, Mamata Banerjee had already met with a group of 15 junior doctors at her residence. She also visited the protesting doctors and assured them that their concerns would be tackled, and action would be taken against those responsible for recent incidents. She expressed deep concern, saying the protest and the tragic rape and murder of a 2nd-year PG student at RG Kar Medical College on August 9 were causing her significant distress.

The minor girl's father said, "My daughter was going to the shop from home...He (accused) took my daughter to the shop and molested her. We did not see this, the person next to us told us that this was done to my daughter...When I asked my daughter about this, she said that this was done to her by beating and scaring her. I called the Panchayat member and he told us that the accused would be punished but he went to the accused's house and started supporting him...An FIR has been registered. The accused was caught at 4 am, he is in custody. We want the person who did this to my 9-year-old daughter to get the harshest punishment."
