Riding on Quentin Britto's brace Don Bosco, Matunga made it to yet another final after they beat a spirited Campion, Cooperage 3-0 yesterday. The inter-school stalwarts will clash with St Pius X, Mulund in the final of Mumbai School Sports Association's Boys U-14 inter-school football tournament. Britto was joined by Doane D'Silva on the scoresheet for Matunga side.
Britto, who plays right-out was ecstatic to have led his side to victory and now has high expectations from himself when he steps on the field for the final. "I hope I score a hat-trick in the final," said a buoyant Britto.
"I was down with jaundice and missed a few games earlier on in the tournament and that included one against St Pius X. So, I'd like face them in the final," he said.
Earlier, St Pius X broke St Lawrence's (Borivali) unbeaten run with a 4-3 triumph via a penalty shoot-out.
St Pius coach Carlton D'Souza was optimistic of his side's chances in the final having held Don Bosco to a 1-1 draw earlier in the tournament. "We started the tournament against them and we are going to end the tournament against them. I just hope to end it on a high," said Carlton.
