Former India captain Rahul Dravid's wait to become the fielder with highest Test catches got over this morning when he took a low, diving catch at third slip to dismiss Tim Mcintosh off the bowling of Zaheer Khan on the fourth day of the third and final cricket Test here.
Dravid who was at par with former Aussie Mark Waugh with 181 catches, had blown up an opportunity to surge ahead when he dropped Ross Taylor (92) in the Second Test at Napier.
This morning, however, Dravid not only ensured he achieved the milestone, but helped India gain the much-needed breakthrough. Dravid snapped his record 182nd catch in his 134th Test while Waugh had taken his 181u00a0off 128 Tests.
Elated over his much awaited record, Dravid planted a kiss at the cherry before his teammates huddled around to congratulate him.
The 36-year-old Dravid, who made his Test debut in June 1996 at Lords against England, has scored 10823 runs from 134 matches at an average of 52.53 with 26 hundreds and 57 fifties.
