Delhi Daredevils' torrid losing streak finally came to an end with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Mumbai Indians on Sunday

Maintaining winning momentum is crucial for DD: Van der Merwe

DD’s left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe now wants the team to keep the momentum going. “The importance of winning is massive, especially in this tournament where there is a lot at stake. It’s only 16 games, it sounds like a lot but look at us, we have lost six and are running out of time, so the momentum now is crucial for us. If we can win two or three on the bounce, then towards the end you never know, we might be in with a chance,” said Van der Merwe ahead of their clash against Kings XI Punjab tonight.

On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab coach Darren Lehman, showered praise on swashbuckling Daredevils’ opener Virender Sehwag and said his wicket will be crucial. “We need to have some plan for him. At the end of the day, if he is on, he can take the game away from the opposition.”
