A panel of Mumbai Indians franchisee will visit the Dr D Y Patil Sports Stadium at Nerul today to discuss specifications with Dr Vijay Patil to host their Indian Premier League matches.
The panel is also set to inspect all the cricket related and logistical arrangements at the Navi Mumbai stadium, a Mumbai Indians source told MiD DAY yesterday.
The source also said that Cricket Club of India hasn't yet responded to Mumbai Indians' request on the availability of the Brabourne Stadium.
Incidentally, last year too CCI took a long time to make up their mind, which resulted in the Wankhede Stadium being made available along with the D Y Patil Stadium to host Mumbai Indians' seven home games.
MiD DAY has learnt that Mumbai Indians' inclination for the Nerul stadium was boosted by Rajasthan Royals decision to host the IPL final there. As per the rule, the defending champions have the right to decide the venue of the final. The final of the inaugural IPL was also held at the D Y Patil Stadium.
