An Apex Council member of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has probably put herself in a possible conflict of interest.

Former India women's cricketer Samantha Lobatto, who came into the MCA Apex Council via the Indian Cricketers' Association (ICA) route, has accepted her appointment as logistics manager of the Indian women's cricket team.

According to the BCCI rule 38(4), the constitution does not allow any individual to hold more than one post.

Recently, Lobatto's Apex Council members approached the MCA president Dr Vijay Patil to approach the ombudsman and ethics officer to remove Lobatto from the MCA post after it came to light that she is also on the senior selection committee of the Indian Railways cricket team.

Lobatto confirmed accepting the role with the Indian women's team, but refused to comment. "I have no comments to offer at this moment," Lobatto told mid-day.com.

When asked if she has stepped down before taking up this role, she said: "I haven't done yet. I haven't thought about this as of now."

The Indian women's team are set to tour New Zealand five ODIs and a T20I. It will be followed with the ICC Women's World Cup.
