According to reports in the British media yesterday, Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are the leading candidates to succeed Rodgers, who was sacked by Liverpool on Sunday after a 1-1 draw with Everton left them 10th in the Premier League.
Klopp (48) has been out of work since stepping down at Dortmund last season. Hamman (42), who was part of the Liverpool team that won the 2005 Champions League and now works as a pundit in Germany, told German Sky Sports: "The emotions in Liverpool must be awakened. People have lost faith, it's important someone gets things going. Jurgen Klopp would fit wonderfully to Liverpool's mentality."
