The third seed clinched a 7-5, 6-2 win over the Serbian in Stan Smith Group in a match that lasted for one hour and 17 minutes.

Djokovic has claimed three out of the four Grand Slam titles this year, namely Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. He has recently been declared as the winner of the ATP World Tour Number One for the second consecutive year.

Meanwhile, Federer has been awarded with the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the eleventh time. He also receives fans' favourite award for a 13th straight year.
