24-year-old Heena Sidhu clinched the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol women's event at the ISSF World Cup Final here yesterday.
The young shooter upset reigning World Champion Zorana Arunovic in the final face-to-face, closing the round with a total score of 203.8 points to Arunovic’s 198.6 points.

Sidhu’s best placements during this year’s ISSF World Cup Series had been two eighth-place finishes, in Changwon (Korea) and in Munich.
u00a0In fact, Sidhu had not even been shortlisted among the 8 shooters to participate in this year’s World Cup Final.
But when three other international athletes withdrew their participation, she was handed a spot, thanks to the points she had gained in Changwon and Munich.
Four-time Olympian Viktoria Chaika, from Belarus, clinched the bronze medal with 176.8 points.
